Why is the food so expensive?

If you think about it in price per meal, it may not seem as expensive. Nekton-Lori recommends 10 g of food per day per lorikeet. A jar of 750 g is therefore 75 meals. For one lorikeet, that's less than a dollar per day!

Harrison's High Potency Fine 455 g is $27. Our African Grey gets through that bag in about three weeks. That's about $1.28 a day!
