Pick four from the available options. The ingredients will be added to your bag in equal proportions, so if you would like more of one fruit or vegetable, then select the same item on multiple lines. For example, Kale, Kale, Pear, Pear will result in one bag that is half Kale and half Pear. But Kale, Pear, Banana, Cauliflower will be the same size bag with a quarter of each ingredient. If you want the whole bag of one fruit or veg, then pick the same type on each line. Some fruit and vegetables are available in smaller beaks or larger beaks options, but some fruit doesn't freeze-dry well in bigger pieces (usually the sweeter fruit such as grapes and mango), so those are available in only one smaller size.

The big bag holds 2.5 to 3 cups, depending on the ingredient.

Feeding Instructions

Because the pieces are airy and crunchy, they can be fun for the birds to eat as is and can be offered as a treat. Most birds will need only one or two pieces a day - consider that pellets recommend no more than 20% of daily diet be other food.

Some birds may prefer it broken up finer and sprinkled on their existing pellets.

You can also rehydrate the fruit pieces by adding a very small amount of water to them and leaving it for about half an hour, then offering as fresh.

Storage

The fruit and vegetables are packed in sealed Mylar bags which help preserve the shelf life of the product until it arrives to you. You can transfer the food into another container or use the bag ziploc to reseal it.

The bags are packed with an oxygen absorber packet. Make sure no one tries to eat it! Oxygen absorber reacts with the oxygen in the packet and releases nitrogen. Because the oxygen is removed, there can be no bacterial growth and oxidation. As long as the bag is sealed and re-sealed, the absorber keeps working. Once the oxygen absorber packet has become rock-hard, it's been used up - the chemical reaction has finished and will not be able to absorb any more oxygen.

When the pieces are becoming soft, it means they've absorbed some moisture from the air and this means they should be used up soon.
